Subcutaneous injection of peanut oil once a day (0.05ml/100g) for 3 days can cause mild enlargement of the thyroid gland of rats and increase the iodine uptake rate of the thyroid gland. The water vapor distillation of peanut oil has a weak antibacterial effect. In the replication of experimental atherosclerosis in rats, if peanut oil is combined with other high-cholesterol seasonings, the aorta can produce "atheromatous changes" similar to those in humans. If butter is used instead of peanut oil, thrombosis often occurs, and the lesions are not similar to those in humans.
